1. 檢查生詞及短語(yǔ)。
2. 教師展示準(zhǔn)備好的加拿大地圖，通過(guò)以下提問(wèn)導(dǎo)入正課：If we
are to learn something about a country ,what do you want to know?
板書學(xué)生所提出話題。Possible topics：Size ; Population; Location; Language; History; Capital; Weather; Industry and agriculture; Education; Medical care
OK.Today we’ll learn something about Canada.What do you already know about this country?Is there anybody in out class who has ever been to Canada before?If none of you have ever been to this country before,do you want to go there sometime in the future?Why?
鼓勵(lì)學(xué)生開口，就以上內(nèi)容討論。
3.準(zhǔn)備閱讀課文。教師給出讀前提問(wèn)：1）What is the population of Canada?2)Is there plenty of fresh water in Canada?How do you know?
教師給學(xué)生數(shù)分鐘，要求學(xué)生快速閱讀課文，之后請(qǐng)同學(xué)回答上述問(wèn)題。
Key:1)The population of Canada is about 29 million.
2)Yes,Canada has one third of the world’s supply of water. Because there are five great lakes in the south ,and there are many others , especially in the north.
4.放課文錄音，學(xué)生跟讀一至兩遍。指導(dǎo)學(xué)生完成39頁(yè)有關(guān)課文理解練習(xí)，并予以訂正。
5.教師用投影儀打出以statements,要求學(xué)生判斷其正誤，并對(duì)錯(cuò)誤的statements進(jìn)行修改。
